    Hi @CARRILLO, CINDY,

    Thank you for reaching out.

When links shared in Microsoft Teams cannot be opened or fail during the verification process, this is usually related to link protection policies, Teams client configuration, or browser/security settings applied to the account or tenant.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1/ Sign out and sign back in to Microsoft Teams

This refreshes authentication and session data and can resolve temporary verification issues.

2/ Test the link in Teams on the web

Open Microsoft Teams in a browser https://teams.cloud.microsoft/and click the same link to compare behavior. If the link works in the web app but not in the desktop app, the issue is likely related to the local Teams client. In that case, clearing the Teams cache is a supported troubleshooting step.

3/ Repair or reset the Teams app

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Teams > Advanced options, then select Repair or Reset.

    4/ Clear the Teams cache

    Windows – New Teams

    • Quit Teams
    • Press Win + R and paste: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
    • Delete the contents of the folder
    • Restart Teams

    macOS – New Teams

    • Quit Teams
    • Open Terminal and run:

    rm -rf ~/Library/Group\ Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams

    rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2

    • Restart Teams

Note: After clearing the cache, Teams may take longer to load the first time while rebuilding local data.

    5/ If the issue persists

Please ask your IT administrator to review the following tenant‑level settings:

If the problem continues after trying the steps above, please share the exact error message shown when opening the link, as this will help narrow down the cause.

I hope this helps. Please let me know the results after testing these steps so we can continue troubleshooting if needed.

Try these checks and workarounds based on how the link is being opened in Teams:

    1. If the link is added as a Website tab in a chat, channel, or meeting:
      • Some websites block being embedded in other sites, which prevents them from loading inside Teams.
      • In the tab, look for the banner that says something like If your site isn't loading correctly, click here or Open in browser.
      • Choose one of these options:
        • Open in browser / Go to the website – opens the link in a separate browser tab outside Teams.
        • View the site in your desktop app – opens it in the Teams desktop client instead of the web client.
        • Reload this tab / Reload tab – try loading the site again.
      • If the site still will not load inside Teams, always use Open in browser as a workaround.
    2. If using Teams on the web (in a browser):
      • Some sites cannot be displayed in an iFrame in Teams on the web.
      • Open the same link directly in the browser (outside Teams) or use the Teams desktop client, where it should work more reliably.
    3. If the site is blocked by organizational policies:
      • Conditional Access or other security policies can prevent some tabs or websites from loading.
      • In that case, use Open in browser or the corresponding app (for example, use the SharePoint Pages app for SharePoint content) and contact the organization’s IT admin if access is still blocked.

If none of the above works, open the link by copying it from Teams and pasting it directly into a supported browser (such as Microsoft Edge or Chrome) as a fallback.
