so edge keeps signing me out of my google account every time i close the browser. super annoying since i gotta 2fa every single time. i'm on win11 23H2 on my xps 15, and this only started happening after that update last week. tried messing with cookie settings but nothing works. anyone else seeing this or is it just me? it's driving me crazy.

    Hi,
Do you use any antivirus program? Sometimes it blocks cookies/Edge Process causing you to log out.

I would also like to see a screenshot of edge://settings/privacy/clearBrowsingData/clearOnClose page for the next steps.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

Edge is likely clearing or not retaining the cookies that keep the Google session signed in, or the profile/sign-in state is corrupted. Use these steps in order and test after each:

    1. Clear stale cookies and cache
      1. In Edge, go to edge://settings/privacy.
      2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
      3. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
      4. Set Time range to All time.
      5. Select Clear now.
      6. Restart Edge and sign back into Google, then close/reopen Edge to see if the session persists.
    2. Make sure Edge sign-in and profile are healthy
      1. Go to edge://settings/profiles.
      2. Confirm the main profile is the one being used and that it is signed in with the intended account.
      3. If there are extra or duplicate profiles (for example, a new “Profile 2” created after the update), sign out of the problematic one and remove it if not needed, then use the primary profile only.
      4. Close and reopen Edge and test again.
    3. Check that Edge itself can sign in and sync If Edge cannot stay signed in to the Microsoft account, cookie and token handling may be broken.
      1. In edge://settings/profiles, sign out of the Microsoft account in that profile.
      2. Sign in again with the same account.
      3. If sign-in fails or repeatedly prompts, follow the Edge sign-in troubleshooting steps:
    4. Remove conflicting stored Windows credentials
      1. Open Control PanelCredential Manager.
      2. Under Windows Credentials and Generic Credentials, remove outdated entries related to MicrosoftAccount or login.microsoftonline.com.
      3. Restart Edge and test again.
    5. Check for policies or privacy tools that clear cookies on exit
      1. In Edge, go to edge://policy and review applied policies. If an organizational policy is clearing cookies or disabling sign-in, contact the administrator to adjust it.
      2. If any third-party “cleanup” or privacy tools are installed, ensure they are not configured to delete Edge cookies on browser close.
    6. Update Edge to the latest version
      1. Go to edge://settings/help.
      2. Let Edge check for and install updates.
      3. Restart Edge and test Google sign-in persistence again.

If the issue started exactly after the Windows 11 23H2 update and persists after these steps, the most common fixes are: clearing cookies/cache, removing extra Edge profiles created by the update, and re-establishing a clean Edge sign-in state.
