Outlook On The Web AutoComplete Issue

A contact has a new email address. I have deleted their old address and added their new one. When I go to email them AutoComplete remembers the old address and I can't seem to delete it! How can I remove it? What I've found online doesn't work or is not available to me.

Unfortunately I'm not getting the "X" to the right of the address.

Microsoft took it away. See the Answer by "Hornblower409 Apr 27 2026" in

With the information supplied by Hornblower409, then the only thing to do is turn the feature off. Hornblower409 gave a link that shows you how.

Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

Outlook.com doesn't use autocomplete. Instead, it uses Suggested People. Those suggestions are based on what's already in your mailbox. If you have the old address on any message in your mailbox, you'll see it in Suggested People. You should be able to move your mouse over the suggestion and see an "X" to the right of the address. Clicking that X should remove the suggestion. You should also be able to click the To button when addressing a message and select the contact with the correct address. With the sent message in your mailbox, the new address should also be available in Suggested People.
