For my power & battery settings......the option for Lid, power & sleep buttons. I bring this option up by right clicking and choosig display settings AND in the start menu. I have to reset my options every morning. Once I choose my options, there is no save button. How do I get my options to stay so I don't have to do this every morning?

    1

    Open the Settings App.

Go to Update and Security - Activation.

Is it indicated that Windows is correctly activated?

    2

    If Windows is activated correctly.

In the Settings App, go to Accounts - Sync your settings, and toggle Sync settings to Off.

Restart (not shut down) your laptop and then set your preferred power settings and test if they do not revert to defaults.

In Windows, lid and power‑button behavior is saved through the classic Power Options, not only through the quick “Lid, power & sleep button controls” view. To make the settings persist, configure them in Power Options where they are stored with the active power plan.

Use one of these supported paths from the context:

    1. Open the full Power Options page
      • Select Start > Settings > System > Power & sleep (or Power & battery on newer builds).
      • Select Additional power settings.
    2. Set lid / power‑button actions so they are saved with the plan
      • In Power Options, select Choose what the power buttons do.
      • For When I press the power button and When I close the lid, choose the desired actions (for example Sleep, Do nothing, or Shut down).
      • Select Save changes.
Or, if only the lid action needs to be set:
      • In Control Panel, open Power Options.
      • Select Choose what closing the lid does.
      • Set the preferred actions for On battery and Plugged in, then select Save changes.

Once these are saved in Power Options, the lid and button behaviors should remain across restarts and each morning without needing to be reset.
