Word ( and Excel ) will not load - just get an unspecified error

When I open Word on my Windows 10 PC I get the message attached - the same happens to Excel

If I click on Repair Now the program shuts down.

How do I resolve this issue

The quick repair option on that error dialog rarely resolves the problem with the Office apps, the best option is to perform a full repair of your Office installation.

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu).

Go to Apps - Installed Apps, then scroll down to find Microsoft Office/365.

Select that and choose Modify - Online Repair

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation.

Problem solved but in its finite wisdom, Microsoft managed to delete my Office suite.

Easily resolved by re-installing but an annoyance

Note that an Online Repair always includes a reinstall of Office.
