How to report to Microsoft a problem with the Microsoft Edge PDF "Add text" feature

It's worth trying a workaround first before reporting — some users with the same "Add text" behavior have had luck falling back to the legacy PDF viewer:

• In Edge, go to edge://flags.
• Search for edge-new-pdf-viewer.
• Set it to Disabled and restart the browser.

After the restart, see if Add text behaves normally again.

If that does not help, the right way to report it directly to the Edge team is Alt+Shift+I in Edge, which opens the Send Feedback window.

To report a problem with the Microsoft Edge PDF Add text feature so that the product team can investigate it, use the built‑in feedback tools and (optionally) the DevTools GitHub repo.

1. In Microsoft Edge, open the PDF that shows the Add text issue.
2. Press Alt+Shift+I (Windows) to open the Send feedback window, or select Settings and more (… ) > Help and feedback > Send feedback.
3. In the Send feedback window:
   • Describe the problem (for example, that text entered with Add text is changed or truncated after exiting the text box).
   • Mention that it happens in the PDF viewer on Windows 11 and include the exact steps to reproduce.
   • Attach a screenshot that shows the intended text while editing and the modified text after exiting the box.
4. Select Send to submit the issue so it is tracked by the Microsoft Edge team.

1. Go to the DevTools repository issue page.
2. Create a new issue describing the PDF Add text behavior, steps to reproduce, and Edge version.
3. Optionally link to your in‑product feedback ID (shown after sending feedback) so the team can correlate reports.

This combination (in‑product feedback plus a GitHub issue) is the recommended way to get the problem in front of the Edge engineering team.
