As per the title.

Standard_NV4as_v4 is being retired September this year and we've been advised to migrate across to NVads_V710_v5, however, doesn't show up in our sizing list in Australia East. Do we just simply have to move regions?

NVads_V710_v5 isn’t available in all regions. The NVv4 retirement guidance explicitly states to:

    1. Migrate off NVv4 before 30 September 2026 by either:
      • Resizing to NVads_V710_v5 in a region where it is available, or
      • Choosing an alternative GPU series/size that is available in the current region.
    2. Check the Azure Regions by Product page to confirm whether NVads_V710_v5 is offered in Australia East. If it is not listed there for that region, it cannot be used in Australia East.
    3. If no suitable GPU SKUs are available in Australia East for the workload:
      • Plan a region migration of the workload to a region that has NVads_V710_v5 (or another supported GPU series that meets requirements), using a migration method such as Azure Migrate or backup/restore, or
      • Re-architect so that only the GPU-dependent components run in a GPU-capable region, while other components remain in Australia East.
    4. Before changing sizes or regions:
      • Request quota for the target GPU series in the destination region.
      • Perform test migrations/resizes to validate performance and compatibility.

If assistance is needed selecting an alternative GPU SKU or planning a cross-region move, open an Azure support request under Virtual Machine running Windows/Linux → Assistance with resizing my VM.
