Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

Kindly follow the steps provided by Q&A Assist. If the issue persists, I recommend reinstalling the Office app by following the steps below:

Press the Windows key + R, then type in:

    appwiz.cpl

    Then hit OK

Look for the Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 app > Right-click, then select Uninstall

Follow the prompts to uninstall your Office app.

Then reinstall your Office app by following the steps from the link below:

    System fix the issue

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Close all Office apps
      • Make sure Excel, Word, Outlook, and any other Office apps are closed.
      1. Run an Online Repair of Office
        • Open Windows Settings.
          • Go to Apps → Installed apps.
            • Find Microsoft 365 or Office in the list.
              • Select the entry (for example, click the three dots) and choose Modify.
                • Select Online Repair and confirm.
                  • Let the repair complete; this can take 15–30 minutes. Do not cancel it.
                    • Restart the PC after the repair finishes.
    2. Test Excel
    • After restart, open Excel directly (without opening a file) and confirm it starts normally.
      • Then open one of the affected workbooks and check that the error no longer appears.

The message indicates that Excel (and likely other Office apps) have corrupted components or files. The built‑in “Repair now” prompt is essentially a Quick Repair and often does not fully fix the problem. A full Online Repair of Office is required.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Close all Office apps
      • Make sure Excel, Word, Outlook, and any other Office apps are closed.
    3. Test Excel
      • After restart, open Excel directly (without opening a file) and confirm it starts normally.
      • Then open one of the affected workbooks and check that the error no longer appears.

If Excel still opens to a blank screen or remains unusable after Online Repair, follow the same Online Repair guidance from the Excel blank‑screen article and, if the problem persists, use the Contact us option in that article to reach Microsoft support.
