Migrate Founders Hub enrollment to new tenant

2026-05-04T14:33:26.9866667+00:00

Hello, I had enrolled in Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub and received the 1000 USD credits. However, following this i moved my Azure Startup Sponsorship subscription from the original tenant to another tenant, where i have deployed all azure resources.

Because of this tenant change, the Founders Hub portal no longer recognizes my startup, and I cannot complete business verification or unlock the $5,000 Azure credits.

How can i resolve this? I have actually deployed my startup app. Is there a way i can migrate my Founders Hub enrollment and associated benefits to the new tenant, where my active Azure resources and subscription now reside - because i don't want to break anything from the new tenant?

Thank you.

    Hello

Thank you for the detailed explanation. The behavior you’re seeing is expected because your enrollment in Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub is tied to the Azure AD tenant used at the time of sign-up. Moving your Azure Startup Sponsorship subscription to a different tenant does not automatically re-associate your Founders Hub profile or benefits.

Please note that your deployed resources are not impacted—this is strictly a portal and identity association issue. To resolve it, you will need to contact Founders Hub Support and request a tenant re-association. When submitting the request, include your original tenant ID, new tenant ID, subscription ID, and the email address used during enrollment so the team can validate and process the change.

You can submit a support request through the Founders Hub portal here: https://foundershub.startups.microsoft.com/ (navigate to “Contact Support”). In parallel, you may also reply to your original Founders Hub welcome email with the same details, which can sometimes help expedite routing to the appropriate team.

Once the re-association is completed, you should be able to proceed with business verification and unlock the remaining credits under the new tenant. In the meantime, you can still access your existing benefits by signing in with the original tenant.

Founders Hub enrollment and the associated Azure Sponsorship credits are tied to the Microsoft account (MSA), the original Entra tenant, and the Azure Sponsorship subscription created when the credits were first activated. Moving the Azure subscription to a different tenant can break that linkage, and this cannot be fixed self-service.

To resolve this scenario without breaking the deployed resources in the new tenant, use the supported support paths:

    1. Confirm which MSA and sponsorship are in use
      • Sign in to the Azure portal with each possible Microsoft account (MSA) that might have been used to redeem the Founders Hub credits.
      • Go to Subscriptions and look for a subscription of type Azure Sponsorship as described in the setup guide.
      • This identifies the MSA and the sponsorship subscription originally associated with Founders Hub.
    2. Engage Microsoft for Startups Support to handle the entitlement move
      • If the wrong account/tenant is currently associated with the credits, an entitlement transfer is required.
      • The documented path is to submit a support ticket to the Microsoft for Startups Program Support Team and request an entitlement transfer so that the sponsorship (and thus the Founders Hub benefits) aligns with the tenant and subscription where the active resources now reside.
      • The same support channel can also help if the account used to activate the credits cannot be identified.
    3. Avoid manual changes that could break the environment
      • Do not delete or recreate the existing tenant or subscription that currently hosts the deployed startup app.
      • Do not attempt to manually recreate the sponsorship or credits in another tenant; entitlement transfers must be processed by Microsoft support.
    4. After support completes the entitlement transfer
      • Once the entitlement transfer is processed, the sponsorship and credits are aligned with the correct tenant and subscription.
      • Then return to the Founders Hub / startup credit flow to complete business verification and unlock the additional credits, following the standard guidance for verification and account setup.

If the tenant or billing profile also needs adjustment (for example, to align with a corporate domain), follow the “Properly Setting Up Your Azure Account” guidance after the entitlement transfer is complete, ensuring the corporate domain and tenant are correctly configured before further scaling.
