Please help! For a week now, I have not been able to open my Outlook app on my 2020 MacBook Pro. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, I have restarted my computer many times, I have installed the latest Apple software update, and yes, all of my Microsoft apps are up-to-date.

This is the entire notification:

    Hello Emma,

Office for Mac only supports the latest three versions of macOS. Licensing and subscriptions also matter — for example, if you’re using Office 2019, you’ll need to install the compatible version for that release.

From the error details, this looks more like a profile corruption issue rather than a compatibility problem. The best approach right now is to completely uninstall Outlook and remove its related files, while keeping the rest of Office intact. Here’s how:

    Quit Outlook

Make sure Outlook is not running.

Right‑click the Outlook icon in the Dock → **Quit**.

      **Delete the Outlook App**

         Open **Finder > Applications**.

            Locate **Microsoft Outlook**.

Drag it to the **Trash**, or right‑click → **Move to Trash**.

Empty the Trash to remove the app itself.

                  **Remove Outlook Support Files**

In Finder, click **Go > Go to Folder…**.

                        Enter: `~/Library/Containers` → Delete the folder **com.microsoft.Outlook**.

Also check: `~/Library/Group Containers` → Look for folders starting with **UBF8T346G9.Office** and remove Outlook‑related data (be careful not to delete if you still use Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

                           **Clear Preferences (Optional)**

                              Go to: `~/Library/Preferences`

                                 Delete any files named **com.microsoft.Outlook.plist**.

                                 **Restart Your Mac**

Restart to ensure all cached files are cleared.

⚠️ Note: Deleting container files removes cached Outlook data. Make sure your emails are synced with Exchange or Office 365 before proceeding.

Once you’ve uninstalled Outlook, you can reinstall the compatible version using Microsoft’s official update history page: Update history for Office for Mac

    Thank you hope this helps,
