My current account which has credentials has my work email address linked. I want to switch to my personal email just in case of job changes. Could you let me know how to change email address associated to my account?

Thanks.

    Hi Lei,

Thank you for posting your question here, let me help you regarding your concern.

You can change the email address associated with your Microsoft account by adding your personal email as a new sign in alias and then making it the primary one. Sign in to account.microsoft.com go to Your info then select Manage how you sign in add your personal email and complete the verification. Once verified set the personal email as the primary alias and confirm you can sign in successfully. After that you can safely remove the work email. Also, is the work email a corporate Microsoft 365 account or just an email used to sign up personally?

Looking forward to your response. To help the Community and guide others with the same concern please let us know if this reply solved your problem by clicking Yes or No below.

To use a personal email instead of a work email, change the aliases on the Microsoft account that is currently using the work address.

    1. Go to the Microsoft account alias management page: https://account.live.com/names/manage and sign in with the account that currently uses the work email.
    2. Under Your info, choose Add email.
    3. Add the personal email address that should be used going forward and complete any verification steps.
    4. After the personal email is added, select Make primary next to that personal email so it becomes the main sign-in and contact address.
    5. (Optional but recommended) Select Remove next to the old work email alias if it should no longer be associated with the account.

After this, the same account (and all data, subscriptions, OneDrive, etc.) will be kept, but it will be signed in and managed using the personal email instead of the work email.
