Availability and rollout status of Excel COPILOT() function

In Excel, the newly announced COPILOT() function is currently available in which license tiers and rollout rings? When is it expected to be generally available for enterprise tenants, and will all users be able to use this feature directly within Excel formulas?

=COPILOT

    Hi @FN,

According to your concern, let me share the lately information I have found about the new COPILOT function:

    • The function is currently available in the Beta and Current Channel via Microsoft 365 Insider or Frontier program. Especially for customers in the US and the UK, it is only available in Beta Channel.
    • Licensing: COPILOT function requires a license for premium Copilot feature and is intended for Business and Enterprise Microsoft 365 Copilot plans.
    • Based on the latest roadmap updates, the expected general availability date is December CY2026 for both Excel Desktop (Roadmap ID 499658) and Excel web version (Roadmap ID 499660).
    • Not all users will be able to use this feature. As mentioned, the COPILOT function is only available to users with a Copilot subscription. Therefore, when the feature is broadly released, it will be usable only by eligible licensed users, not everyone
