    Hello Sonic Kid,

At this time, there isn’t a supported way to create a standard Azure subscription (including running a Windows VM) without providing payment information if you’re using the regular Azure free account. Azure sign‑up can involve payment method validation and identity checks as part of account creation.

If you want to use Azure without providing a credit card, the supported option is the Azure for Students (or Azure for Students Starter) offer. These are specifically designed for eligible students and allow you to create a subscription without a credit card, along with free credits and limited free services.

If you’re not eligible for those education offers, you would need to use a standard Azure account path, which may require a valid payment method even if you only plan to stay within free usage limits.

From a billing perspective, Azure free accounts provide initial credits and free service tiers, and you are not charged as long as you stay within those limits. However, creating that type of account typically still requires completing the sign-up validation process.

I think u can’t run a Windows VM without payment info, because the Windows image quota-check won’t pass without a card. The Learn sandbox is the only exception, but it doesn’t provide real VMs.
