    Hello Oskar Ekh,

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 is not sold through retail channels or preinstalled like standard Windows editions. It is only available via Microsoft’s authorized OEM distributors and volume licensing partners. For a deployment of up to 100 devices, the correct path is to purchase licenses through a Microsoft Authorized Distributor that handles IoT SKUs, such as Arrow, Avnet, or Advantech. These partners can provide the LTSC 2024 media, licensing keys, and guidance on embedding the OS into your hardware.

You cannot simply buy boxed copies; IoT Enterprise is licensed per device and tied to OEM distribution agreements. The recommended approach is to contact your Microsoft account representative or a listed IoT distributor, specify the edition (Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 Standard or Value), and order the required number of licenses. This ensures compliance and guarantees that you receive the correct image and activation method for mass deployment.

For new computers, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 licenses are obtained through OEM licensing, not directly as boxed/retail product.

There are two main options based on the scenario described (up to 100 new devices, cannot get them preinstalled from the current supplier):

    1. Work with an OEM via an authorized Windows IoT Distributor
      • Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC is designed to be preinstalled on new devices by OEMs.
      • Contact an authorized Windows IoT Distributor. The distributor can:
        • Connect to an OEM partner who can supply devices with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 preinstalled, or
        • Help obtain OEM upgrade licenses if devices are being built or integrated in-house.
      • OEM licenses support both new devices and upgrades of existing devices, and are transferable with the device to the end customer.
    2. Use Volume Licensing only if upgrading existing devices
      • Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 is available as an upgrade license through Volume Licensing programs such as:
        • Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA)
        • Microsoft Product and Services Agreement (MPSA)
        • Select/Select Plus
      • Volume Licensing is for upgrading fixed‑function devices that already have a qualifying underlying OS; it is not for licensing bare-metal new devices.
      • If the 100 computers already have a qualifying Windows license, a Volume License Administrator can procure the IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 upgrade licenses and provide the installation media and activation keys (KMS or MAK).

Given the requirement “new computers” and “need the OS on every machine,” the correct path is:

    1. Identify whether these are:
      • Completely new, bare-metal devices → use OEM licensing via an authorized distributor.
      • Existing devices with a qualifying Windows license → use Volume Licensing upgrade.
    2. If they are new/bare-metal, contact a Windows IoT Distributor and request:
      • Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 OEM licenses for ~100 devices, and
      • Either devices prebuilt with the OS, or guidance on OEM preinstallation if building the systems.
