Outlook email problem

Suddenly the font in my email display as I type turned tiny and has remained so, email after email. The font is still listed at the same 14 pt. Every time I start a new email it's the same tiny font. Yes, I can zoom it larger, but how do I fix the underlying problem? Many Q&As refer to a font pane at the bottom of the page, but I don't have that. Others have referred to View "reset". I don't have that either. Please help--I don't want to have to spend any more time on this!!!

Alright. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Outlook app? I also want to double check if the issue exists only with Outlook app not others.

    Hi,

To confirm, it is Legacy Outlook on Mac?

If you press the CTRL key and scroll your mouse wheel up or down, does it help in any way?

Or CTRL + CMD + Mouse wheel.

    Please both try to verify.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

This answer did not solve the problem. The font is set for Aptos 12. However the display is showing up tiny when I type a new email. Existing emails are ok. I hit something and it changed, and since then, this is happening on the display. I can zoom in but it is not a permanent fix.

In Legacy Outlook for Mac, the issue is usually with the default font settings for composing messages or with the zoom level while composing.

To fix the underlying font size for new emails and replies in Outlook for Mac:

    1. Open Outlook on the Mac.
    2. In the menu bar, select Outlook > Settings.
    3. In Outlook Settings, select Fonts.
    4. Under Default fonts, choose the message type that is affected (for example, New mail and Reply or forward), then select the Font... button next to it.
    5. In the Font panel, set the desired Font and Size (for example, 14 pt).
    6. Select OK to save the changes.
    7. Repeat for each message type that appears tiny.

If the text only looks tiny while composing a single message (but the font size shows as 14 pt), adjust the zoom for that message:

    1. While composing an email, place the cursor in the message body.
    2. On the menu bar, select Format > Zoom.
    3. Choose a higher zoom percentage or enter a custom value, then apply it.

If the font for all messages in a folder looks small when reading:

    1. Select a message in the affected folder (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, etc.).
    2. On the menu bar, select Format > Increase Font Size (or Decrease Font Size if needed).
      • This temporarily changes the display size for that folder; when leaving the folder, it reverts to the default. For a permanent change, use the Fonts settings as above.

These steps adjust the actual default font size for composing and the zoom/display size, which should resolve the persistent tiny text when starting new emails.
