Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Download the Autoruns tool from the official link here-

    https://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe

Run the Autoruns tool as Administrator.

Go to Options > Scan Options.

    User's image

    Click Rescan.

Then, click Windows + F key, type taskmgr and click Find Next.

It will highlight/show you every single place where the Task Manager is registered to run automatically.

Post a screenshot of the resulting dialog box.

Task Manager is not listed in the provided context as a known app that automatically opens on wake, and there is no documented Windows 11 feature that intentionally launches Task Manager when resuming from sleep.

From the available information, only general wake behaviors and maintenance-related wake timers are described:

    • Windows can wake from sleep or hibernation due to scheduled maintenance tasks (for example, Windows Update or .NET NGEN), which are visible via powercfg /waketimers and logged in Task Scheduler event logs.
    • Presence sensing on some Windows 11 PCs can cause the device to wake when a user approaches, but this does not include launching Task Manager.

Because the context does not document Task Manager auto-starting on wake or a specific fix for that behavior, no supported, documented cause or resolution can be provided from these materials.
