Hi Azure Support Team,

We are experiencing an issue with our Virtual Machine Scale Set where it appears to have been automatically downsized / marked as degraded without any manual intervention from our side.

Concern: We did not initiate any scaling or configuration changes. We would like to understand:

  1. Why the VMSS was automatically downsized or marked as degraded
  2. Whether this was triggered by Azure platform, autoscale rules, or internal health policies
  3. If any underlying infrastructure, resource constraint, or platform issue caused this behavior
  4. Recommendations to prevent this from happening again

Additional Context: We recently observed resource constraints (disk utilization and application issues), and we would like confirmation if this contributed to the VMSS health degradation or scaling behavior.

Kindly provide detailed logs, root cause analysis, and any corrective actions required.

Thanks & Regards,
Niresh
