Microsoft no longer provides an active official download for Microsoft Money. The final free version was Microsoft Money Plus Sunset, which does not require activation but no longer supports online banking, automatic transaction downloads, stock quotes, or Microsoft support.

You can download from here: https://archive.org/details/MSMoneySunset

This comes from an archive of the original Microsoft Download Center listing.

Microsoft Money was discontinued years ago and is no longer available from Microsoft.

You can still download the app from third-parties, but since these are not official sources, you won't know exactly what you're getting.

Why anyone would want to expose their personal finances to software that has no support, not even for security weaknesses, is beyond my comprehension.

Microsoft Money itself is not provided as a current, supported download in the available context. However, there is information about obtaining Microsoft support files and patches, which is relevant if a download link for Money (or a Money patch) is already available from Microsoft or another source.

To correctly download and extract Microsoft support files (including any Microsoft Money–related updates or patches that might be offered):

    1. Go to the Microsoft Download Center search page shown in the context:
      http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx
and search for “Money” or a specific Money update if you know its name.
    2. When you locate a file to download:
      • If it is a self‑extracting .exe file (common for older Microsoft downloads):
        1. Download it to a dedicated folder (for example, C:\Download).
Do not download directly into the Windows folder to avoid overwriting system files.
        2. After download, select StartRun and enter:
          C:\Download\Sample.exe -d
replacing C:\Download\Sample.exe with the actual path and filename.
This ensures recursively compressed files maintain their file structure.
Alternatively, double‑clicking the .exe will also extract it, but the -d method is recommended for complex archives.
      • If it is a .zip archive:
        1. Download it to a dedicated folder (or a formatted blank disk if needed).
        2. Locate the .zip file in File Explorer and double‑click it to open and extract its contents. Windows can handle .zip files without additional tools.
    3. If there are problems extracting the downloaded file, download it again and retry extraction.

For older Microsoft Money security patches that were distributed via the product itself, the context notes that a patch could be obtained using the Update Internet Information feature inside Money (if Money is already installed):

    1. In Microsoft Money, open the Tools menu.
    2. Select Update Internet Information and follow the on‑screen instructions to install the patch.
    3. As a best practice, change the Money password after applying such a fix.

If Microsoft Money is not currently installed and no download entry appears in a Microsoft Store order history, the context does not provide a direct, supported download of the full Money product itself—only general download/extraction guidance and an example of an in‑product patch mechanism.
