Facts:

  1. ✅ Original Surface Connect charger: white LED, but no charging.
  2. ✅ USB-C charging through a dock works and charges from 17% to 98%.
  3. ✅ Battery health is excellent (cycle count 1, full charge capacity healthy).
  4. ✅ A brand-new Microsoft 65W Surface Connect charger behaves the same way.
  5. ✅ Battery reports consistently show Battery rather than AC during charging tests. For the interval (about 18:47 to 19:05), the source remains Battery and capacity continues to decrease from about 70% to 69%.

    Hello, GdW-9812.

Based on the information you provided, the most likely cause is either a malfunction of the charging socket on the Surface, or damage to the line from the socket to the battery controller. In any case, it is better to contact a service center for hardware diagnostics and repair.
