Azure for Students verification repeatedly fails — Microsoft Services / AADSTS16000

Hello Microsoft Support / Azure team,

I am trying to activate Azure for Students through my verified GitHub Student Developer Pack, but the Azure for Students verification process consistently fails.

My student eligibility

• I have an active and verified GitHub Student Developer Pack.
• The GitHub Student Developer Pack page shows the Microsoft Azure benefit.
• The Azure benefit says: “Get access by connecting your GitHub account on Microsoft Azure.”
• My university is FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES), Lahore.
• My university email domain is @lhr.nu.edu.pk.
• I am trying to use my existing personal Microsoft account to activate the Azure for Students offer.

Azure for Students verification problem

When I visit the official Azure for Students signup page and attempt to proceed, I repeatedly receive:

“Unable to complete Azure for Students verification”

The latest occurrence was:

• Session ID: 7b42f487-d3f4-439d-a58b-c9359ea23778
• Timestamp UTC: 2026-08-24 18:07:07

I have reproduced this problem multiple times, including after retrying the GitHub → Azure connection flow and using a clean/private browser session.

Azure Support Portal authentication problem

I also attempted to use the Azure support/contact route, but I cannot create a support incident because the Microsoft Support Portal itself produces an authentication error.

The error is:

Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application 'e6694c91-1590-4e35-9bb7-b865c638b9c1' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

The detailed AADSTS error I received previously was:

AADSTS16000: User account from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application 'e6694c91-1590-4e35-9bb7-b865c638b9c1' (Microsoft_Azure_SupportPortalExtension) in that tenant.

Azure Portal status

When I sign into the Azure Portal with the same Microsoft account, the account is associated only with the Microsoft Services directory.

The portal shows that there are no Azure subscriptions available, and there are no other directories available to switch to.

I have not created a Pay-As-You-Go Azure subscription because I do not want to accidentally create a paid Azure account when my goal is the Azure for Students offer.

What I need help with

Could someone from the Azure Education / Subscription Management team please check the Azure for Students eligibility/verification state for my account and help me complete the student subscription activation?

I believe the problem is occurring during the Azure student verification/provisioning process rather than with my GitHub Student Developer Pack.

I would also appreciate guidance on how I can contact the appropriate support team because the Azure Support Portal itself is inaccessible to my personal Microsoft account due to the AADSTS16000 / Microsoft Services tenant error.
