Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
Hello @Joseph Shrawder,
To help narrow down the cause, could you please confirm the following?
- Are you using the Teams desktop application or Teams on the web?
- Are you using Windows or macOS?
- Does this happen in every Teams call and meeting, or only in one particular meeting?
- Are you using the computer’s built-in microphone and speakers, a wired headset, or a Bluetooth device?
- In Teams, under Settings and more > Settings > Devices, are the correct microphone and speaker selected?
Please also check the following:
Check microphone privacy permissions
If you are using the Teams desktop application, make sure the operating system allows Teams to access your microphone.
Windows
- Open Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
- Turn on Microphone access.
- Turn on Let apps access your microphone.
- Turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.
If these settings are already enabled, try switching them off and back on, then restart Teams or the computer.
macOS
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
- Make sure Microsoft Teams is allowed.
- Close Teams completely, reopen it, and test again.
