Additional chat-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for business
Hello @Rick Chevalier
To double-check the situation, you can kindly perform the following checks:
1/ Verify whether the behavior occurs in Teams Web
- Open a browser.
- Navigate to https://teams.microsoft.com.
- Sign in using the same account.
- Open Chat.
- Enable the "Unread filter".
- Check whether the same banner is displayed while unread chats remain visible.
-> The behavior should be compared between the desktop client and web client to determine whether it is specific to the local Teams application.
2/ Refresh the Teams Client Cache
- Fully close Microsoft Teams.
- Clear the Teams cache using the Microsoft procedure below.
- Reopen Teams.
- Allow the client to complete synchronization.
This step verifies whether cached data is affecting how filters and unread indicators are displayed.
3/ Reinstall Microsoft Teams
This step ensures that the latest Teams client is installed and replaces existing application files that may be contributing to the behavior.
- Close Microsoft Teams completely.
- Uninstall Microsoft Teams from the device.
- Restart the device.
- Download the latest version of Teams from: Download Teams Desktop and Mobile App
- Install Teams.
- Sign in and allow synchronization to complete.
- Open Chat and test the Unread filter again.
If the issue still remains after trying all the steps above, please share a screenshot or provide more detailed information. I will check the situation and continue to support you.
