Welcome Tracy Zoe,
I understand how frustrating it can be when you need your headphones to work.
Since Windows 7 reached end of support on January 14, 2020, this product is EOS, but you can still try these workaround steps.
- Check whether your headphones are wired or Bluetooth
- If they are wired, plug them fully into the headphone jack and test if sound works
- Set the headphones as the default playback device
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar
- Select Playback devices
- If your headphones appear, select them and click Set Default
- Check whether Bluetooth is available.
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Type
devmgmt.mscand press Enter. - Look for a category named Bluetooth
- If Bluetooth is not listed, your laptop may not have a Bluetooth driver installed
- Please let me know:
- Are you using wired earphones or Bluetooth headphones?
- What is the Samsung laptop model?
- Do the headphones work on another device, such as a phone?
