I got an alert on my desktop Outlook account that my account has an "issue." I could never get anywhere to find the "issue" and now I can only access Outlook email online or on my mobile app, but not my desktop. Please advise.

    Thanks!

Since this issue only occurs on the computer, it could be a synchronization problem. Try removing and re-adding the account:

    1. Press Windows + R > type control > Under View By, select Large Icons > Click on Mail (Microsoft Outlook).

WARNING: If your email is POP, you should back up your Data Files as a precaution in Documents > Outlook Files.

    1. Click on Show Profiles > Remove your current Profile > Close the window and then open it again.
    2. Click on Show Profiles again > Add > Add a name > Go back to the previous window and click on Add Account.
    3. Select Manual setup or additional server types > POP or IMAP > Fill in the requested fields with your account information.
    • You should be able to obtain all this information from your email provider or IT department.
    1. Click on More Settings > Fill in more information in Outgoing Server and Advanced.
    2. Click OK > Next.

Some email providers require an application code instead of a password. If the problem persists, try generating an application code and using it in place of your password.

It is a business email from a custom domain. I open up Outlook on the desktop. It has a warning triangle at top. It says there is a problem with your account let's fix it. I click on it and it opens for email and password. The password and email don't work even though it works fine on mobile and online.

    Hi!

    1. Is your email personal, corporate, or educational?
    2. Is your email from your custom domain (@yourname.com, @companyname.com), Microsoft (@outlook.com or @hotmail.com), Google (@gmail.com), or a third-party domain?
    3. Does the problem occur immediately upon opening Outlook, or while you are using it?
