Wanting to cast from Windows 11 PC to Samsung TV

On Windows 11, the Cast option is available from the taskbar network area, not as a separate permanent tab.

Try this:

1. Select Network on the taskbar.
2. Select Cast.
3. If the TV or adapter appears, select it to connect.

If Cast does not appear or the TV is not listed, check these basics:

1. Make sure the TV supports Miracast or wireless display.
2. Make sure the PC has the latest Windows updates: Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
3. If using a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, connect it correctly:
   • HDMI end to the TV/monitor HDMI port
   • USB end to a USB power source
   • Set the TV input to HDMI
4. Then press Windows logo key + K on the PC and select the adapter name.

If the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app keeps searching and does not detect the adapter:

1. Select Network on the taskbar.
2. Select Cast.
3. Select the adapter name, then Disconnect.
4. Open Network again.
5. Select Cast, then reconnect to the adapter.

If the connection still fails, try these troubleshooting steps in order:

1. Check the HDMI and USB connections.
2. Restart the adapter by unplugging it from the display, restarting the PC, then reconnecting the adapter.
3. Update the adapter firmware in the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app under Update & security.
4. Reset the adapter by holding its reset button for 10 seconds, then reconnect it.
5. In Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices, remove the wireless display device and add it again.
6. Check Windows Firewall: search for allow firewall, open Allow an app through Windows Firewall, and make sure Wireless Display is allowed for Private and Public networks.
