If OneNote is crashing and you've already cleared the cache and reset the app settings, there are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check the Registry Settings: OneNote may have issues related to the registry. Ensure that the FirstBootStatus registry key is correctly set. You can do this by:
      • Pressing Windows + R, typing regedit, and hitting Enter to open the Registry Editor.
      • Navigating to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OneNote.
      • Checking if the FirstBootStatus value exists and is set to 02000202. If it does not exist, you may need to create it.
    2. Reinstall OneNote: Sometimes, a fresh installation can resolve persistent issues. Uninstall OneNote completely and then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store or your Office installation package.
    3. Check for Updates: Ensure that your version of OneNote and your Office suite is up to date. Sometimes updates can fix bugs that cause crashes.
    4. Disable Add-ins: If you have any third-party add-ins installed, they might be causing conflicts. Try disabling them to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance, as they can provide more tailored help based on your specific situation.

These steps should help you troubleshoot the crashing issue with OneNote.
