Hi,

Good day!

we are trying to paste the image/screenshot in the comment field on planner app. But we are unable to paste the SS or image (PFA) image (31).png. If this feature is not available, please suggest me which Microsoft task app can paste images that do not have to be attached as a file. I am looking where we can see all images in one view, not having to open each image as a file (like in planner).

Regards,
Riz

    Hi @Shaik Rizwana

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your experience with Microsoft Planner. I can understand how convenient it would be to paste screenshots directly into the comment field for quick visual context.

Currently, Planner’s Comments section only supports text, so pasting images inline isn’t available yet. However, there are a few alternatives that can help you achieve a similar outcome:

1/ Use the Notes field in Planner tasks:

If your organization has the latest update, the Notes section supports rich text and may allow pasting images inline. This keeps visuals visible without opening separate files.

    2/ Attachments with Preview:

Adding an image as an attachment will show the first image as a task cover on the board, making it easier to identify visually.

For more information, please refer to the following link: Comment on tasks in Microsoft Planner

Other Microsoft apps for inline images:

    1/ Microsoft Teams:

    • Paste screenshots/images directly into a chat or channel post and they render inline in the conversation.
    • This is fast for discussions and keeps all images visible in a single thread view.
    • You can find more details here: Insert pictures and images to MS Teams chat

2/ Microsoft OneNote: Great for task lists with inline visuals.

    • You can paste images anywhere on the page and view them inline, annotate, and keep them together with checklists.
    • OneNote supports inserting/pasting images; behavior can vary by version, but the full desktop app supports inline images well.

    3/ Microsoft Lists:

    • If you manage tasks in a List, add a Multiple lines of text column with Use enhanced rich text.
    • To inset image and text in a column in Microsoft List, you can create an enhanced rich text column (i.e., Multiple lines of text)
    • Click More options, and then select the Use enhanced rich text (Rich text with pictures, tables, and hyperlinks) option.
    • Once done, you can insert text with image in column as shown below.  User's image
