Hi @Gutierrez Joel (US Stores) and everyone,

I found a method that might help you with this issue:

Please follow the exact steps below:

    1. Settings -> Apps -> Search for "Android System WebView" -> App Details In Store -> Remove Updates
    2. Reboot
    3. Settings -> Apps --> Search for "Android System WebView" -> App Details In Store -> Update
      • Note: If "Android System WebView" doesn't appear in the app list, go to: Settings -> Google -> All services -> System Services -> Select "Android System WebView"
    4. Reboot
    5. Launch Teams/Outlook & log in.

    Hi @Gutierrez Joel (US Stores)

Thanks for reporting this issue and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused to your workflow.

I have seen a several users who are in the same situation as yours. However, I have not found any official documents addressing this unexpected issue.

Can you please provide your Android version as well as your Office apps versions?

In the meantime, please use Outlook in the browser on your mobile as an alternative. For Excel, Word and PowerPoint, you need to use the web version on your computer

I know this is not a definite solution but as for now, to reduce the interruption, please use the method.

Lastly, please report the issue via Outlook · Community. (Remember to include your app versions as well)

After you finish submitting, please drop the link here so I and other people can upvote it for you. The more people upvote, the faster Microsoft will be aware of this issue.

I really apologize for this situation. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Microsoft Authenticator app updated today from the Google Play Store and the update appears to have fixed the issue on my device (S25Ultra). I am now able to open/use Authenticator, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, etc. that were not working for the past week.

I'm having this issue the only work around that I have been able to find that works for me has been to move all of these to a secure folder and then they suddenly work

There are certainly other inconveniences to having all of these in a secure folder.

I couldn't find the webview the other instructions talked about so hopefully this helps someone. Obviously a larger issue that has started over the weekend

Try the following steps on the Android device to get the Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) working again:

    1. Confirm Android and app support
      • Make sure the device is running one of the latest four versions of Android, as Outlook and other Microsoft 365 mobile apps are optimized for these versions.
      • If possible, update Android to the latest available version, then restart the device and try the apps again.
    2. Fully reinstall Outlook and other Office apps Since clearing cache and a basic reinstall did not help, perform a more thorough reset:
      1. Uninstall Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint from the device.
      2. Restart the Android phone.
      3. Reinstall the apps from the Google Play Store.
      4. Open Outlook first, sign in, and allow it to complete any initial “optimizing” or sync steps without interrupting the app.
      5. Then open Word/Excel/PowerPoint and sign in with the same Microsoft 365 account.
    3. Check for mobile setup or install issues
      • Follow the guidance for setting up Office apps and email on Android to ensure the account is added correctly and the apps are fully configured.
      • If email or documents still do not load, use the mobile troubleshooting guidance for additional checks (network connectivity, sign-in issues, etc.).
    4. If the problem persists
      • If using a work or school account, contact the Microsoft 365 admin to verify there are no device or account restrictions.
      • If still stuck after the above steps, use the self-help troubleshooting for Outlook mobile issues or contact Microsoft 365 support from the admin portal if this is a business tenant.
