My child already belongs to a family group I didn't setup.

I am trying to add my 15-year old to my family group to enable multplayer in minecraft. The family settings says he is already part of a different family group with an organizer called [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed] who we don't know and did not set up. We can't get him removed to add him to our family.

    Hello Wes Hinsley

I can see that your child account is part of an unknown family group

Have you try leaving the family group by yourself first?

Sign in with the child’s Microsoft account on account.microsoft.com/family to see If Leave family group appears next to the account, select it and confirm. If that option is not available, the account cannot leave on its own.

If your child account unable to leave then for the next step, I suggest contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.
