Just to confirm, were you able to perform the workarounds I provided above, especially the thread on how to prevent unauthorized logins?

    Best regards,

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

There is a possibility that a hacker using a bot is repeatedly trying to sign in to your account, which triggered the system to detect multiple failed sign-in attempts or an unusual login pattern, resulting in the account being blocked and forcing you to reset the password to unblock it.

If the account is still blocked, kindly try the Microsoft Sign‑in Helper troubleshooter, as this is also the fastest way to verify your identity through this link: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/microsoft-account-sign-in-helper-7117cc8d-0d68-4658-b4fb-c4b7ee8a8e28

If this is a case where your username or password has stopped working, please recover your account at this link: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/my-username-and-password-have-stopped-working-802abb61-19db-4e88-a5ff-fc83c97d1a9d

Once you have regained access to your account, please secure it by enabling the two-step verification feature and ensure that your verification methods are updated on account.microsoft.com > Security > Manage how I sign in

Lastly, please follow the guide from this thread to prevent unauthorized logins:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/answers/questions/4049625/someone-is-repeatedly-trying-to-access-or-hack-my?forum=windows-all&referrer=answers

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

The message indicates the account has been locked temporarily after too many incorrect sign‑in attempts, even if the password is now correct. Use these steps:

    1. If available on the sign‑in page, select Other ways to sign in and try an alternate method (for example, code to phone/email or an authenticator app). If that works, change the sign‑in preference to the method that works reliably.
    2. If no alternate sign‑in method works, stop trying to sign in and wait at least 24 hours without any further attempts. Repeated attempts reset the lockout timer, so avoid testing the password during this period.
    3. After waiting, try again. If the same error continues, the account may be blocked because of suspicious activity. In that case, follow the unblock and reinstatement process described in the Outlook.com guidance: use the Unblock my Outlook.com account flow and submit a Request for Account Reinstatement if prompted.
    4. If access is still not restored after following the unblock/reinstatement steps, contact Microsoft Support via the Microsoft account & billing support channel and reference that the Outlook.com account appears to be blocked.

These steps are the supported way to clear a temporary lock and regain access; continuing to enter the password repeatedly will not remove the block.
