Hey there! Nice to meet you!
There is a possibility that a hacker using a bot is repeatedly trying to sign in to your account, which triggered the system to detect multiple failed sign-in attempts or an unusual login pattern, resulting in the account being blocked and forcing you to reset the password to unblock it.
If the account is still blocked, kindly try the Microsoft Sign‑in Helper troubleshooter, as this is also the fastest way to verify your identity through this link: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/microsoft-account-sign-in-helper-7117cc8d-0d68-4658-b4fb-c4b7ee8a8e28
If this is a case where your username or password has stopped working, please recover your account at this link: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/my-username-and-password-have-stopped-working-802abb61-19db-4e88-a5ff-fc83c97d1a9d
Once you have regained access to your account, please secure it by enabling the two-step verification feature and ensure that your verification methods are updated on account.microsoft.com > Security > Manage how I sign in
Lastly, please follow the guide from this thread to prevent unauthorized logins:
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,
Darhyl
The message indicates the account has been locked temporarily after too many incorrect sign‑in attempts, even if the password is now correct. Use these steps:
These steps are the supported way to clear a temporary lock and regain access; continuing to enter the password repeatedly will not remove the block.
