I have MS 365 on my pc. I have my earthlink email on both my pc and iphone. They don't sync and want them to. I also need to add outlook calendar to my iphone and sync with my pc outlook calendar. Need to speak with a technician - how can I reach someone to assist?

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

Based on the Outlook.com Health Status, there was a recent issue affecting sign-ins, but mitigation steps have already been applied, and the service is being closely monitored.

This is a known issue, and updates will be provided through the link below.

    https://portal.office.com/servicestatus

Under Microsoft consumer products > Show products > click Show Details under Outlook.com

If the issue persists, I recommend waiting for Outlook.com to be fully operational again.

Additional note: This is a public forum. I may respond shortly, but I apologize in advance for any delays. I am simply a fellow user trying to provide helpful insights and information.

Calendars and contacts will only sync between Outlook on PC and Outlook on iPhone if the email account is set up with a protocol that supports calendar/contacts sync (Exchange ActiveSync), not POP or IMAP.

Key points for the current setup:

    1. EarthLink account sync
      • IMAP/POP accounts (which EarthLink typically uses) can only sync email, not calendar or contacts.
      • To sync calendar and contacts, the account must be added as an Exchange ActiveSync account, and the provider must support it. If EarthLink does not support Exchange ActiveSync, only email will sync; calendar and contacts will not.
      • IMAP and POP are explicitly noted as unable to sync calendar and contacts.
    2. Outlook calendar on iPhone
      • To get Outlook calendar and contacts on the iPhone, use an account that supports Exchange ActiveSync (for example, a Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com account) and add that same account to both Outlook on the PC and Outlook for iOS.
      • For the easiest way to manage email, calendar, and contacts, it is recommended to install the Outlook for iOS mobile app and sign in with the same account used in Outlook on the PC.
    3. When calendar/contacts are not syncing
      • If the email account was set up on the iPhone as IMAP or POP, calendars and contacts will not sync. The account must be re-added as an Exchange ActiveSync account if the provider supports it.
      • Also ensure the email app on the iPhone has permission to access calendar and contacts.
    4. Speaking with a technician
      • For help with Outlook.com or Outlook app issues, contact Microsoft support via the Outlook support channels listed in the articles.
      • If the account is a Microsoft 365 work or school account, contact the Microsoft 365 admin or technical support for the organization.
      • If the issue is with the iOS Mail app itself (not the Outlook app), contact Apple Support.
