hacker deleted emails past the deletion recovery with a rule

A hacker gained access to an account and tried to reset all my paswords to other accounts I had. I managed to recover all of them except my discord account. They changed the email and password but my only way to reset it back is with the discord email that they deleted. They fully purged the email with a rule thus deleting it past recovery how do I manage to speak to a live agent to get the email back?

    Hi Charlotte Meese

Please kindly note that this is a public user-to-user forum, I do not have the ability, tools to unblock, recover accounts or bypass security. Only Microsoft’s official recovery process can restore access.

I understand how stressful it is, especially when it affects access to another account like Discord.

About recovering the deleted email, based on how Outlook.com (personal accounts) works:

    • Emails are kept in “Deleted Items” for a limited time, then moved to a recoverable area
    • Items removed from there are only recoverable for up to 30 days
    • After that period, or if they are fully purged, they are permanently deleted and cannot be restored

This means that even if you contact Microsoft support, they generally do not have a way to bring back emails that are already permanently deleted beyond that window.

Because a rule was used to delete your emails, I strongly suggest checking:

    1. Go to Outlook.com then go to “Settings” > “Mail” > “Rules”
    2. Remove any suspicious rules
    3. Change password and enable two‑step verification via https://account.microsoft.com/security

You can still try reaching support, especially since the account was compromised:

    • Visit  Contact Us - Microsoft Support
    • Select the product or service you're having issue with.
    • Click Get Home Support
    • Type a brief description of your issue in the search box.
    • Click Get Help and select Contact Support below.
    • Go to the Products and services tab and choose the appropriate product.
    • On the Category tab, choose the appropriate category or an alternative option.
    • Go to Confirm.
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) if available. Explain your situation clearly.

    Thank you for your understanding.
