almost all of my email folders are empty. I still have emails in my inbox and sent mail folders, but all the rest are empty. I would like to get them back. How do I do that?

    Hi Kevin Kane,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating it is when many folders suddenly appear empty. To narrow this down in the right direction (recovery due to deletion/move vs. a display/sync issue), could you please share two quick details:

    • Is this email address an Outlook/Hotmail (Microsoft) account, or a Gmail/ISP email (IMAP) account that’s been added to Outlook?
    • When you sign in to webmail (Outlook.com/Outlook on the web, or your email provider’s website), can you still see the “missing” emails there, or is it also empty on the web?

I’ll send the next appropriate steps right away to help you restore the emails/folders.

I think that ur mail’s still there—open Deleted Items → Recover items… and tap each empty folder once so Outlook.com pulls the real store back.
