I can no longer log into my Home Office 2024 Email from my desktop. I have tried everything and do not know what to do.

    Hi,

I’m here to help you get this sorted as quickly as possible.

To better understand what’s happening and provide the most accurate solution, could you please share any error message you see when trying to log in to your Microsoft email account? Also, have you tried signing in using a different device or internet connection?

Please try switching to another internet connection, then open an InPrivate window (Ctrl + Shift + N) in your browser and attempt to sign in using this link: https://account.microsoft.com/

Let me know if you’re able to log in there, as this will help narrow down the cause and guide the next steps.

Try the following steps in order to get back into the email on the desktop and confirm whether the issue is with the account or just the desktop Outlook app:

    1. Confirm the account still works on the web
      • Go to www.microsoft365.com and select Sign In.
      • Sign in with the same email address and password used in Home/Office 2024.
      • If sign-in fails here as well, use the Sign-in helper to diagnose and fix account issues: Sign-in helper.
    2. If sign-in works on the web but not on the desktop app
The problem is likely with the Outlook desktop profile or cached credentials.
      • Sign out of all Microsoft sessions in the desktop apps.
      • Close Outlook.
      • Open Control Panel → Credential Manager → Windows Credentials and remove any entries related to Office/Outlook/Microsoft 365 accounts.
      • Reopen Outlook and sign in again with the same account used on the web.
    3. If Outlook shows “You can't sign in here with a personal account” or keeps asking for a password
There is a known issue for Outlook.com or personal Microsoft accounts in Outlook for Microsoft 365:
      • Make sure Outlook is updated to Version 2303 Build 16227.20202 or higher (the issue is fixed in that version).
      • If updating is not possible yet, apply the documented workaround by disabling Support Diagnostics via the registry key described in “Can't sign in to Outlook with Outlook.com account”. This stops the faulty diagnostics authentication that can block sign-in.
    4. If still unable to sign in anywhere (web or app)
      • Use the Microsoft account sign-in helper again from the Sign in to Microsoft 365 article to detect and fix account problems.
      • If the account itself is blocked or not recognized, follow the guidance from the sign-in helper to recover or unblock it.

If none of these steps work and the account cannot be recovered via the sign-in helper, direct support from Microsoft may be required using the contact options linked from the sign-in and account-recovery pages.
