Now when I login to the azure portal using my hotmail it shows different default directory with different azure subscription. It was working fine few week back, not sure how this change made. suddenly. May be due to Authenticaor app in my mobile associated wrongly with my hotmail account. Appreciate any help on this issue.

The behavior is consistent with being signed into the correct Microsoft account (Hotmail) but the wrong Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) directory, or with not having sufficient permissions on the subscription in the directory where it resides.

Use these steps to locate and switch to the directory that contains the missing subscription:

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com) with the Hotmail account.
    2. In the top-right corner, select the account name, then select Switch directory.
    3. In the directory list, select each available directory and check Subscriptions in the left-hand menu to see which one contains the missing subscription.
    4. If the correct directory is already selected but the subscription still does not appear, ensure that the account has the required permissions (for example, the Owner role) on that subscription. If another admin manages the subscription, that admin must assign the appropriate role.

If the subscription was moved to a different directory, it can be associated back to the desired directory by a user with the Owner role on that subscription:

    1. In the Azure portal, go to Subscriptions.
    2. Select the subscription that should be visible under the Hotmail account’s default directory.
    3. Select Change directory.
    4. Review any warnings and select Change.
    5. After the change completes, use Switch directory again to move to the directory where the subscription was reassigned and verify it appears.

If the issue is that the portal shows “No subscriptions found” when using the Hotmail account, verify again that the correct directory is selected as above. If the correct directory is selected and the subscription is still missing, the account likely doesn’t have sufficient permissions and must be added as Owner on that subscription.

If multiple accounts are cached in the browser or the wrong identity is being used automatically (for example, due to Microsoft Authenticator or saved sessions), clear browser cookies/cache or use a private/incognito window and sign in explicitly with the Hotmail account, then repeat the directory-switch steps.

If none of the directories available to the Hotmail account show the missing subscription and there is no way to regain the necessary permissions, a support request with Azure Billing/Subscriptions support is required so they can review the subscription’s current directory and ownership.
