Why is my school’s Microsoft account repeatedly asking for MFA even after I select “Don’t ask again for 30 days”?

I’m using a Microsoft 365 Education account provided by my school. Even though I successfully complete MFA and check the option to remember my device, I’m prompted for MFA almost every time I sign in (especially after restarting my PC or opening Office apps).

Is this expected behavior due to Conditional Access or security policies set by the school, or could it indicate a configuration issue? Has anyone found a way to reduce these repeated MFA prompts without compromising security?

Yes, this can be completely expected behavior in a Microsoft 365 Education tenant. Since you're using a school-issued Microsoft 365 Education account, frequent MFA prompts are more likely the result of the school's Conditional Access or security policies than a problem with your account.

However, if you're being prompted virtually every time despite using the same device and browser, it's worth asking the school's IT administrators to review your sign-in logs and Conditional Access results to determine whether a policy or a device-registration issue is causing excessive reauthentication.
