I'm a teacher in an urban high school. Is there a way to purchase a Teacher version of Office 365 (or whatever the current version is) at a discounted rate?

Our school system cancelled our subscription for Microsoft word due to budget cuts. I was curious is there and option for teachers like me to obtain a discount for Microsoft 365 for teachers? I need it just for my home computer(desktop).

Based on your description, it appears that your school has canceled its Word subscription.

It is quite possible that your school has switched to the Microsoft 365 Education A1 plan. This plan does not include the desktop version of Word. Instead, users can access and use Word for the web.

You can try signing in with your school account at:

Word for the Web

to check whether you can access and use Word online.

If you are unable to use the web version of Word with your Education account, or if you would like to use the desktop version of Word and other Office applications on your personal computer at home, you may consider subscribing to Microsoft 365 Personal.
