there is no way to change the language, not even by reinstalling Outlook. In addition to the fact that since I switched to the new outlook I can no longer receive and send emails as smoothly as before

    Dear @Stone Hadley

I completely understand your frustration with these issues in the new Outlook for Windows, and I am glad to assist you.

Step 1: Sign Out and Sign Back In

    • Refreshing your authentication token can often resolve email sending and receiving delays:
    • Open New Outlook.
    • Click your profile icon/photo in the top-right corner.
    • Select Sign out.
    • Restart Outlook, then sign back in with your credentials.

Unlike classic Outlook, reinstalling the app will not change the interface language because the new Outlook syncs language preferences directly with your account and cloud settings.

    To update your language settings:

    • Open New Outlook.
    • Click the Gear icon (Settings) at the top right.
    • Go to General > Language and time.
    • Under Language (Country/Region), choose your preferred language from the drop-down menu.
    • Click Save, and restart Outlook if prompted. User's image

(Note: If you use a work or school account and the option is grayed out, your tenant administrator may need to adjust language policies for your organization.)

Step 2: Resolving Email Sending and Receiving (Syncing) Issues
If your emails are delayed or not sending smoothly, please try these direct troubleshooting steps:

    Trigger a Manual Sync:

    • Go to the View tab in the top ribbon and select Sync to force Outlook to refresh your mailbox.

Reset the App Data & Cache:

    • Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
    • Locate Outlook (New), click the three dots (...), and select Advanced options.
    • Click Repair. If the issue persists, click Reset (this clears temporary cache files without deleting your emails on the server).

    Check Connection Status:

    • Ensure you do not have any active VPNs or proxy settings blocking background connections, as the new Outlook relies on direct web protocols to send and receive data.

For further details, you can consult the official Microsoft guide on Managing language settings in Outlook

Please feel free to reach back out if you run into any issues after trying these steps.
