If the DLL error is coming from AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\codecs\8.1.2\avcodedec-62.dll, the supported fix is to update and reinstall OneDrive.
- Select Start, type updates, and open Check for updates.
- Install all available Windows updates.
- After updates finish, press Windows + R.
- Enter
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\update and select OK.
- Double-click OneDriveSetup.exe to install the latest version of OneDrive.
If the issue still happens and OneDrive appears installed but broken, uninstalling the OneDrive app and then reinstalling it is an accepted resolution. This removes the app, not the OneDrive files already stored on the PC or in the cloud, but syncing will stop until setup is completed again.
After reinstalling, open OneDrive, sign in, and confirm the correct account is shown under OneDrive icon > Settings/Preferences > Account.
If sign-in also fails, verify the account directly by signing in to the Microsoft account or Office 365 sign-in page, then check the OneDrive account tab.
