Hiermee worden alle ValidationRule objecten uitgevoerd op de gekoppelde Binding waarvoor de ValidationStep eigenschap is ingesteld op RawProposedValue of ConvertedProposedValue. Met deze methode wordt de bron niet bijgewerkt.

In het volgende voorbeeld ziet u het scenario dat wordt besproken in de sectie Opmerkingen. In het voorbeeld kan een gebruiker gegevens invoeren voor een bibliotheekitem en de gegevens verzenden. De binding voor de TextBox benoemde callNum heeft er een ValidationRule aan gekoppeld. Wanneer de TextBox focus wordt verbroken, roept ValidateWithoutUpdatehet voorbeeld aan. Wanneer de gebruiker op de knop Verzenden klikt, wordt in het voorbeeld aanroepen UpdateSource om de wijzigingen door te voeren. Met de volgende XAML wordt de gebruikersinterface voor de toepassing gemaakt.

Opmerkingen
Met de ValidateWithoutUpdate methode kunt u validatieregels uitvoeren op een binding zonder de bron van de binding bij te werken. Dit is handig wanneer u gebruikersinvoer wilt valideren en de bron op verschillende tijdstippen in een toepassing wilt bijwerken.
Stel dat u een formulier hebt om een gegevensbron bij te werken die een verzendknop bevat. U wilt feedback geven aan de gebruiker als er een ongeldige waarde wordt ingevoerd voordat de gebruiker het formulier probeert in te dienen. U kunt de geldigheid van een veld controleren door de eigenschap van UpdateSourceTrigger de binding in te stellen op en aan te Explicit roepen ValidateWithoutUpdate wanneer de TextBox focus verloren gaat.
