此場的值不等價於 null。 利用此欄位有效判斷 的 IntPtr 實例是否被設定為非零值。

例如，假設變數 ip 是 的 IntPtr一個實例。 你可以透過比較建構子回傳的值來判斷是否被設定，例如：「 if ip != new IntPtr(0)... 。 然而，呼叫建構子取得未初始化指標效率不高。 最好用「」 if ip != IntPtr.Zero... 或「 if !IntPtr.Zero.Equals(ip)... 」來編碼。

當從受管程式碼呼叫 Windows API 時，如果參數預期是指標或 IntPtr.Zero，你可以用 null 代替 null。 例如，以下呼叫 Windows CreateFile 函式，提供 IntPtr.Zero 與 pSecurityAttributes 參數值的 hTemplateFile。
