Bose Soundlink speaker loses connection

I have the exact same issue, except it's a Bose Soundlink II speaker with my brand new Surface 3. I don't have this problem at all with my Amazon Kindle Fire, I just turn on the speaker, it keeps its connection, and I'm playing music Easy Peasy as it should be. 

With my new Surface 3, after the machine has been in sleep mode or turned off, I need to delete the Bose speaker from the list of paired devices, then re-pair it to listen to music, frustrating when I don't have this issue at all with other devices.

Thank you for posting to the Community. I am sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with your Bluetooth device when paired with your newly purchased Surface Pro 3. Please rest assured, I am here to help.

I understand you have been able to fully use the Bluetooth device with the Surface Pro 3, however the issue arises solely after your Surface Pro 3 returns from Sleep mode or turned off.

This can occur when the system automatically turns off your Bluetooth device to save power when it detects that you've entered into idle mode.

Please give the steps below a try and see if it resolves your issue in particular.

First make sure your device has the latest updatesfully installed.

Then:

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Expand the "Bluetooth" options.
  3. From the list double click the "Marvel AVASTART Bluetooth Radio Adapter".
  4. Click the "Power Management" tab.
  5. Uncheck the check box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
  6. Click the "Save" button to save the settings.

    The "Power Management" Tab is not available for my device. Why is it not visible? What else can I do?

    Now the device will not connect at all. It claims its connected but the device is still in pairing mode and the speaker is not even listed under playback devices. This is unacceptable for a $1000 device. Don't have this issue with any other device I've ever tried to connect the speaker to. Someone needs to fix this instead of having people doing hacks in the device manager.
